About
My favorite project at Essex Tech has been the robot I built in robotics class. Throughout the year, we designed and built robots while continually enhancing their capabilities. We began by controlling the robots with a keyboard. Next, we added a distance sensor, allowing the robot to move autonomously and avoid obstacles. Finally, we replaced the distance sensor with a camera and implemented machine vision so the robot could follow a piece of blue tape. In this project, I mainly focused on coding, while my partner focused on constructing the robot. I wrote all the code that enabled the robot to move and navigate its environment. I also designed the robot, planning its functionality and determining how I wanted it to move. This project was interesting for me as it combined computer science with hardware application so i could actully see how my code affected the robot's movement.
